Born in beautiful Taipei, Taiwan I was a sickly child with pediatric asthma. In and out of hospitals, almost dying many times, I grew up sheltered indoors and inactive. Books were my friends. Moving to Burnaby, Canada in my late teens, I continued my life as a city person with a sedentary lifestyle.
I watched the decline in my parent’s health with obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart problems. And I watched as my brother suffered through weekly dialysis for kidney failure. It was eight years ago that I had my own wake up call. I was lugging around fifty pounds of excess weight, had chronic headaches, fatigue, and bouts of depression and insomnia. After being rushed to the hospital and having a near-death-experience, I decided then and there that I was sick of being sick.
First, I looked at my diet and what I consumed, cut down on processed foods, and added more fruits and vegetables. Next, I knew that I needed to move my body. I started dancing and joined Les Mills group fitness classes offered at GoodLife Fitness. Over time, I lost the fifty pounds, and everything felt easier. My clothes fit better, I had more energy and excitement for life, and felt more comfortable within my body. Inspired to learn more to help myself and others, I completed the certification for HoloBody – the holistic wellness coaching program through Mindvalley, and trained in 10X – the hyper-efficient, science-backed workout. I’ve realized that fitness is a journey not a destination, and this journey has saved and transformed my life.
Other than physical health, I have long recognized the importance of mental health and the power of the unconscious mind. To enhance my knowledge and coaching skills, I completed training with the amazing Paul McKenna through the Mindvalley Certified Hypnotherapist program. Upon graduation, I decided to focus on hypnotherapy and embarked on the journey of becoming a Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist. I am an ARCH Accredited Training Graduate (Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists). ARCH is a Canada-wide certifying body for highly trained and skilled hypnotherapists. I now travel within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, and provide In-Person sessions with my clients in the privacy and comfort of their homes. Alternatively, I have successfully conducted numerous Zoom sessions as requested.
In my private practice, I use hypnotherapy techniques combined with other modalities such as NLP and psychosensory tools. My hypnotherapy and coaching helps with a wide range of issues such as stress, sleep, anxiety, trauma, lack of confidence, fears and phobias, addictions, weight management, peak performance, and goal setting, just to name a few.
